Online retail giant Amazon is to expand its ground-breaking Dash button ordering service - less than a year after it was introduced.
Twenty new brands have been added to the Dash range in the UK, including Heineken, Glade, Mr Muscle, Tassimo and Duracell.
The Dash buttons, through which UK customers have been able to order household items from brands such as Ariel, Finish and Andrex since last August, come with reusable adhesive and hooks allowing them to be placed anywhere in the home.
When pressed, the buttons, which link directly to the Amazon shopping app via your home's wifi, automatically place an order for whatever household product is required through an Amazon account.
The buttons are set up to order specific products from participating brands in advance, using a free Amazon app. Second presses of the button are automatically disregarded to avoid accidental over ordering.
Each button costs £4.99, but this amount is deducted from the first order of whatever the button is assigned to, meaning it is essentially free to the customer.
Amazon said customer feedback had been overwhelmingly positive, with London, Manchester and Edinburgh the most popular areas for using the buttons.
