Flying high after record sales over the Christmas period, Amazon is pledging to expand its grocery offering.
Amazon Pantry launched earlier this year, and its customers are currently able to choose from 4,000 branded food and drink baby, hair and beauty and pet supply products.
But in a move that is sure to worry the 'Big Four' supermarkets, the online retailers' UK Chief Executive Officer Christopher North told The Guardian the New Year would bring a big expansion in the range of products offered through Amazon Pantry.
Open only to Amazon Prime members, Amazon Pantry charges £2.99 for next day delivery of the first 20kg box of goods, and a further 99p for each subsequent box ordered.
