The Great British Bake Off has been credited with creating a surge in sales at kitchenware retailer Lakeland.
The Windermere based company saw pre-tax profits double in the twelve months to the end of December 2014, from £2.3 million to £5.5 million. Sales also rose 5.5 percent to £175.6 million.
Lakeland sells a range of Bake Off products, from cooking stamps to cake stands, and it has undertaken a programme of refurbishment to create kitchens in some of its 68 UK stores for live demonstrations.
The company has also consciously focused on attracting health conscious customers by stocking a range of food processors and juicers.
