Discount supermarket Lidl is to create 5,000 new jobs in London.
The new positions are part of Lidl's plans to open 250 new stores across the capital in a three year £1.5 billion UK investment proposal.
The German chain is also intending to build a new £170 million 240,000 sq ft UK headquarters in Tolworth, south west London.
Lidl currently employs 19,000 people in the UK. It recently opened a distribution centre in Southampton and plans further warehouses in Wednesbury, Exeter and Doncaster, as well as intending to double the number of British stores to 1,500.
