Big Four supermarket Morrisons has posted its best performance in over seven years.
The grocer's Christmas trading update showed like-for-like sales had increased by 2.9 percent.
Morrisons Chief Executive David Potts attributed the sales boost to its decision to revamp its premium range and its strong focus on keeping shelves stocked and more tills open.
He said the grocer's upmarket 'Best' range had proved a festive hit, while sales of its Nutmeg clothing range also performed well.
Prosecco, party food, flowers and a Christmas tree shaped gateau were among the Christmas top sellers.
