The New Year is to bring more store openings for upmarket grocer Waitrose.
The company intends to open 14 new stores, with the creation of around 1,500 jobs.
As well as five supermarkets, including stores in Worcester and Truro, Waitrose intends to open nine smaller convenience style shops.
The expansion plans come at a time when many bigger supermarkets are contracting, refocusing on improving their existing stores.
The new stores will bring Waitrose's total estate to 360 supermarkets and convenience stores across the UK. It also has shops in 27 Welcome Break service stations.
