Sainsbury's has announced it is to double the number of Click and Collect grocery sites in its store car parks just 15 months after the idea was first piloted.
The convenient 'drive through' service has proved a hit with customers at the 100 stores chosen to trial the initiative.
Part of a bid by Sainsbury's to build the supermarket's multi-channel offerings, Click and Collect has emerged as a popular hybrid of shopping online and a store visit.
Sainsbury's said Saturday mornings had proved to be the most popular time for people to pick up their grocery orders, with pick-ups taking on average just three minutes from start to finish.
