Just two months after trialling a one hour delivery service in Wandsworth, Sainsbury's has announced it is to expand the area covered.
The Big Four grocer has added 35,699 more west London addresses to the trial, which is being undertaken in partnership with Chop Chop, a bicycle delivery app accessible via iPads and iPhones.
A team of 40 shoppers and cyclists have been recruited to run the delivery service, which costs £4.99.
Customers pay via the Chop Chop app and can track the progress of their order. As soon as an order is place, Sainsbury's staff in either their Wandsworth or Pimlico stores shop for the products to give to the cyclists, who then make the delivery.
