Tesco is looking back to the musical future with a foray into vinyl.
The supermarket will stock the vinyl version of Iron Maiden's new album 'The Book of Souls' in 55 of its Tesco Extra stores. If the trial is successful, Tesco will consider expanding its vinyl album offering before the end of the year.
Tesco has been quick to capitalise on what appears to be a vinyl revival across the UK, starting to sell record decks in some of its largest stores in the last year.
Sales of vinyl albums increased by over 50 percent in 2014, bucking a downward trend in sales of other music formats which saw downloads drop by nearly nine percent and CD sales fall by 6.5 percent during the same period.
