British brands are becoming increasingly popular with overseas customers shopping online, new data suggests.
The latest figures compiled as part of the British Retail Consortium-Google Online Retail Monitor show the number of international searches for British brands across all internet devices went up 23 percent in the final quarter of 2016 compared to the same period the previous year.
There was a 64 percent rise in the number of overseas shoppers searching for clothes in the UK on their mobiles, while the beauty sector also experienced a 50 percent increase in the number of international customers shopping via their phones.
Croatian online shoppers showed the greatest enthusiasm for buying British, with a 106 percent increase in mobile device searches for UK goods.
Foreign exchange rates have continued to position UK brands favourably on a global scale - a major factor in the surge of international interest.
