Cash and carry wholesaler Bestway is rumoured to be on the verge of buying Conviviality's stricken retail operation.
If media reports are accurate, Bestway will purchase Conviviality owned businesses Bargain Booze, Wine Rack, Select Convenience and WS Retail.
The owners of Magners ciders - the C&C Group - have already purchased its Matthew Clark and Bibendum alcohol wholesale arms.
Conviviality officially entered administration on April 5, appointing PwC to oversee the process. PwC have not commented on the possible Bestway deal.
Across the UK, Conviviality has 800 stores, with 600 directly employed staff and thousands more working in franchised outlets.
