BHS online revival goes from strength to strength

Just over two years since its high profile collapse into administration, the online-only revival of BHS is quietly going from strength to strength.

Sales at rose 23 percent in the six months ending April 28, while gross profits soared 69 percent.

Strong womenswear sales, particularly in sleepwear, and robust performance in lighting and home accessories, contributed to the increase.

The website was launched in September 2016, when the Al Mana Group of Qatar bought the brand, website and international franchise of BHS.

The bricks and mortar department store chain fell into administration in April that year, just over 12 months after Sir Philip Green's Arcadia Group sold it to Dominic Chappell's Retail Acquisitions.
