Boots to remove sweet temptation from checkouts

Boots is to become the latest high street retailer to save shoppers from themselves by removing sugary snacks from checkouts.

The health and beauty chain is to follow in the footsteps of grocers Waitrose, Aldi, Lidl and Tesco by taking away the sweet temptations that shoppers have long been faced with as they wait to pay for their purchases.

Boots aims to remove the confectionary from checkout areas in all 2,500 UK stores by the middle of April.

The company said the move was in recognition of the vital role it had in supporting its customers in making healthy choices.
