It has been a long time coming, but new research has finally brought some good news for the UK's beleaguered fashion market.
Figures released by shopper behaviour experts Kantar Worldwide have shown the UK fashion retail sector has finally edged into growth again after months of decline.
It may only have grown 0.2 percent in the full year period ending September 24 - worth around £66 million - but this will be welcome news for a sector particularly hard hit by the economic uncertainty that followed the Brexit vote in June 2016.
Encouragingly, with the Christmas shopping season approaching, Kantar is predicting further growth in fashion sales.
However, it warned retailers against falling into a pattern of discounting in a bid to boost sales, pointing out that the latest figures show items sold at full price are now driving market growth.
