Marks & Spencer is to trial 'click and collect' lockers at one of its stores until the end of the year.
The lockers will be available at the retailer's Simply Food store in Teddington, in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames.
Customers will be able to order products online and collect the items at a time which suits them using a unique barcode.
The announcement comes just a week after Morrisons revealed it was partnering with Amazon to install hundreds of the online giant's click and collect lockers in its stores.
Sainsbury's will make the most of newly acquired Argos' unique partnership with Ebay to launch a similar scheme which will allow people to collect items ordered from Ebay in-store.
