Sainsbury's has become the first supermarket to trial grocery deliveries by electric cargo bike.
The supermarket has announced it is partnering with e-cargobikes.com to provide zero emission deliveries at its Streatham store in south London.
Five cargo bikes will be delivering the new service, taking up to 100 online orders a day to customers.
Sainsbury's will use routing software to decide when the bikes should be used.
The retailer is hoping the bikes could provide a more efficient way of getting groceries to its customers in big cities and plans to roll the service out across the country if the trial is successful.
