A restructuring of Tesco's distribution network will lead to the loss of 1,000 jobs, the supermarket has confirmed.
Two distribution centres - in Welham Green and Chesterfield - are to be closed as part of a major overhaul.
Operations will be moved to two existing distribution sites in Reading and Middlesbrough, which will expand their workforces by around 500 as a result.
The changes, which are thought to be taking place in June, are part of Tesco's ongoing drive to simplify its distribution operations and management structure.
